Join us for the 7th Annual Resident/Fellow & Medical Student Advocacy Day!
The Texas Pediatric Society (TPS), the TX Chapter of the AAP would like to invite TPS residents, fellows and medical students from across the state to join us for a unique advocacy experience on February 27 in Austin. The purpose of this event is to engage the next generation of pediatricians in the legislative process by providing the knowledge, skills, and opportunity to successfully advocate on behalf of your patients and the profession of medicine.
This full day of interactive activities will teach participants how to be an effective advocate for Texas children. The morning will include presentations from experts, lawmakers and fellow physicians on the ins-and-outs of making your voice heard at the Capitol. Then, you’ll put your skills into practice by walking over to the State Capitol for office visits with lawmakers and staff on key policy priorities of the Texas Pediatric Society.
The event is complimentary for TPS resident, fellow and medical student members, but registration is required.
Agenda items will include:
- A keynote address from a member of the Texas Legislature.
- An orientation on effective advocacy.
