A History

On November 15-16, 2018, Texas Pediatric Society leadership joined representatives from pediatric residency programs from across the state to develop a vision for the Texas TEACH Collaborative. TEACH – or Texas Educators in Advocacy and Community Health – hopes to unify and mobilize the wealth of clinical expertise and passion for advocacy at each of the 14 pediatric residency programs in Texas to advocate for Texas children. The two-day conference, facilitated by ROME Visiting Professor Dr. Ben Hoffman, from the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Community Pediatrics Training Initiative (CPTI) was dedicated to mapping out the collaborative’s priorities and vision for the future. In addition, community partners were brought in to provide policy spotlights on important child health advocacy topics.
