Student Application Process
The preceptorship program is two to four consecutive weeks in length. Students are eligible for the program upon completion of their first year of medical school and through the clinical level as a fourth-year elective.
Applications and requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Third and fourth-year students may apply anytime during the year, at least one month prior to the requested dates of the preceptorship.
Students are encouraged to do the preceptorship in rural, medically underserved or health profession shortage areas.
Students are required to complete an application for a preceptorship rotation which provides information about themselves and their preference for dates and location for the preceptorship.
Each medical school has a program coordinator to help you sign up for the program.
