The Texas Pediatric Society has identified several additional links to state resources that may assist you in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Please see below:

Texas Department of Insurance (TDI):

TDI has released several bulletins to insurance companies with requests and instructions. They can be found here and are listed below:

  • Bulletin B-0012-17 (8/26/17) - Regarding out-of-network emergency and non-emergency care, and requests health plans waive some requirements related to prior authorization, medical necessity review, and referrals.
  • Bulletin B-0014-17 (8/26/17) - Regarding medication coverage - Requests that, "...all health insurers and health maintenance organizations that provide prescription medication coverage as part of any policy, certificate, or evidence of coverage should, through the duration of the governor's proclamations, authorize payment to pharmacies for up to a ninety day supply of any prescription medication for individuals regardless of the date upon which the prescription had most recently been filled."
  • Bulletin B-0010-17 (8/26/17) - Regarding medical equipment and services - Requests plans authorize payment for needed medical equipment and supplies, regardless of when the supplies were most recently provided. 
  • Bulletin B-0009-17 (8/26/17) - Regarding flexibility around the timing of premium payments.
