Opportunity available for all American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) members
Every year, the AAP provides the opportunity for members to provide input regarding the AAP efforts to address important child health issues.
This opportunity is afforded through the AAP Resolution process.
All adopted resolutions are advisory to the AAP Board of Directors.
Resolutions are a way for members to request that the Academy take action on a particular issue not already addressed in policy statements, clinical reports, technical reports, the strategic plan, or any other AAP endorsed publication or advocacy initiative. They are also a way to request that the Academy inaugurate a new program or activity.
The deadline for resolution submission is November 15, 2018. Should an emergent issue arise between now and the Annual Leadership Forum in March, which is where resolutions are debated and voted on by AAP leaders (this includes Council, Committee, Section, and Chapter leaders), there is a process to submit an “emergency resolution.” I’m happy to outline this process, if needed.
As the AAP Texas Chapter Chair, I am happy to discuss this with any AAP members and help support you in the resolution writing and submission process.
