Deadline to Apply for P-EBT is Friday, August 21

The deadline to apply for P-EBT is Friday, August 21.

P-EBT is for children up to 21 years old who were certified for free or reduced-price meals at school in Texas during the 2019-20 school year. Children who attended a school that offers free meals to all students are also eligible. The benefit is $285 per child. Children enrolled in SNAP back in March already received the benefit, but everyone else needs to apply by Friday, August 21. While the application process is fairly simple and 1.5 million children have applied, there are still 600,000 children in Texas who we have not applied.

Many of the children and families you serve are eligible, including kinship families, foster children, and kids attending charter schools. Immigration status does not matter when applying for P-EBT and the public charge rule does not apply.
