TPS received the following information form the Texas Department of State Health Services:
“The Texas Department of State Health Services is recruiting health care professionals and facilities to administer COVID-19 vaccines, once they are authorized by the FDA. Eligible providers are those permitted to administer vaccinations including medical practices, hospitals, pharmacies, and long-term care facilities.
To enroll as a COVID-19 vaccine provider, professionals and facilities must register here. The CDC has a number of requirements, including that providers must administer vaccine regardless of a recipient’s ability to pay, provide a vaccination record to each recipient, store doses of vaccine under the proper conditions, and report the number of doses received, used and lost for any reason. All COVID-19 vaccine providers must log their vaccination activities in an online portal.
DSHS will share additional information about the immunization process as details are received from the FDA, CDC and US Department of Health and Human Services. “
