Vaccines and Therapeutics

COVID-19 vaccines are widely available in the United States. Everyone aged 12 years and older should get a COVID-19 vaccination. With the expansion of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine’s Emergency Use Authorization to include adolescents ages 12 years and older, the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Immunization Unit is encouraging all pediatric providers to enroll in the COVID-19 Vaccine Program. All interested pediatric providers should enroll now at EnrollTexasIZ.dshs.texas.gov. Read more about COVID-19 Pediatric Provider Enrollment here.

AAP supports the coadministration of routine childhood and adolescent immunizations with COVID-19 vaccines to ensure children remain up-to-date on immunizations. AAP flu recommendations also allow for the coadministration of flu vaccines with COVID-19 vaccines.
