2022 TPS Award Recipients

TPS Charles W. Daeschner, Jr., MD Lifetime Achievement Award
Ben G Raimer, MD, MA, FAAP Galveston, is the recipient of the TPS Charles W. Daeschner, Jr., MD Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest award of the Texas Pediatric Society. The TPS recognizes his outstanding lifetime contributions to the health and welfare of children, his passion for advocating for vulnerable children, and his dedicated service of leadership on the TPS Executive Board, Executive Legislative Committee, Committee on Community and School Health.

TPS Sidney R. Kaliski Award of Merit
Seth D Kaplan, MD, FAAP, Frisco, is the recipient of the TPS Sidney R. Kaliski Award of Merit in recognition of his many years of continuing leadership on the TPS Executive Board and numerous committees. In his role as the TPS 2021-2022 President, he led the chapter through numerous challenges faced both by members and children in Texas and set a new standard for outstanding leadership.

Mary Greene-Noble Special Achievement Award
Fredrick A McCurdy, MD, PhD, MBA, FAAP, FACPE, Corpus Christi, is the recipient of the Mary Greene-Noble Special Achievement Award for his outstanding leadership and service on the TPS Executive Board and as a member of the TPS Committees on Medicaid, CHIP, and the Uninsured, Medical Education, and Children with Disabilities. His dedication to the most vulnerable children is unprecedented.

TPS Early Career Physician Award
Bethany A Nunez, MD, FAAP, Lubbock, is the recipient of the TPS Early Career Physician Award in recognition of her leadership and service as the District VII representative of the AAP Section on Early Career Physicians and Co-Chair of the TPS Hospital Care Committee. Her commitment to education and providing the best possible experience to both medical students and residents is unparalleled.

Clift Price, MD Distinguished Service Award
Erin Zweiner, Texas State Representative District 45, Kyle, is the recipient of the Clift Price, MD Distinguished Service Award for her outstanding service as an advocate for Medicaid recipients, public education, and children, including her efforts to address school bullying.
