Following completion of this activity, the attendee will be able to understand the specifics of a PCMH as currently defined; and understand the process and benefits (quality and pecuniary) of becoming certified as a PCMH including the various levels of certification.

Following completion of this activity, the attendee will be able to identify what expert witnesses and attorneys look for in case evaluations; identify common mistakes that lead to malpractice actions and how to develop processes to minimize risk; and discuss and respond to (through ARS) read life case examples of how systems failed and how to avoid similar failures.

Patient Privacy: New Laws in Texas Go Beyond HIPAA
A new Texas law goes into effect in September of 2012, and brings with it new requirements regarding the privacy and security of protected health information. This session will outline the provisions included in HB 300, and help practices understand their responsibility in protecting patient information.
